Devotions & Meditations

Devotions work primarily through meaning. Meditations guide you through a practice. Both are designed to help you become more present and remain connected with God.

Peace & Comfort

Anxiety, mental overload, negative thoughts, and God’s companionship
Anxious Thoughts Prayer, Scripture, and reflection for fear, what-ifs, racing thoughts, uncertainty, and conversations that keep replaying. Find steadiness in what is true and return to God’s care.
Negative Thoughts Bring criticism, pessimism, suspicion, comparison, self-condemnation, and habitual thought patterns before God. Learn to see more clearly and choose a wiser response.
Feeling Overwhelmed Receive support when responsibilities, emotions, or exhaustion feel heavier than you can carry. Slow down, ask for help, and find the next faithful step.
God’s Nearness Receive Scripture, prayer, and reflection for resting in God’s companionship, noticing grace in ordinary life, and returning honestly when He feels distant.

Healing & Restoration

Grief, heartbreak, repentance, and renewed hope
Grief & Loss Bring loss, absence, and changing grief before God without being rushed toward closure. Receive Scripture and prayer for the days when sorrow returns.
Heartbreak & Betrayal Find honest companionship after rejection, betrayal, separation, or the loss of a hoped-for future. Make room for pain while turning gently toward healing.
Shame & Guilt Return to God after failure, regret, or repeated behavior has made you want to hide. Encounter mercy that tells the truth and calls you toward repentance and change.
Hope & Renewal Find hope when disappointment has narrowed what you believe is possible. Notice signs of new life without denying what has been lost.

Surrender & Trust

Letting go, waiting, uncertainty, and growing trust
Letting Go Release outcomes, people, and questions you cannot control while remaining honest about what still hurts and what remains yours to do.
Waiting Stay grounded during unanswered prayer, delayed change, and seasons that refuse to move according to your preferred timing.
Trusting God Grow in trust when God feels difficult to understand, prayers seem unanswered, or you cannot see how the story will unfold.
Uncertain Seasons Seek wisdom when the future is unclear, circumstances are changing, and several possible paths remain before you.

Strength & Freedom

Strength, endurance, recovery, and courageous discernment
Finding Strength Receive help when you feel depleted, incapable, or unable to continue through your own strength alone.
Enduring Trials Remain faithful through prolonged hardship, resistance, and circumstances that have not improved as quickly as you hoped.
Recovery Seek daily freedom from destructive habits, compulsions, and patterns that promises and willpower alone have not changed.
Courage & Discernment Seek God’s protection, courage, and discernment when you feel vulnerable, pressured, spiritually unsettled, or unsure what influences to trust.

Love & Relationships

Commitment, family, forgiveness, and belonging
Love & Commitment Reflect on dating, intimacy, commitment, faithfulness, and the responsibility of loving another person with honesty, courage, and care.
Family Wounds Bring the lasting effects of family conflict, criticism, absence, or unhealthy expectations into God’s care.
Conflict & Forgiveness Face resentment, regret, difficult conversations, and the work of repair without confusing forgiveness with denial or restored access.
Loneliness & Belonging Receive comfort when you feel unseen, excluded, or disconnected, and consider what it means to be known and loved by God.

Purpose & Provision

Decisions, meaningful work, provision, and new beginnings
Life Decisions Seek clarity when you need to choose a direction, several options appear possible, or you fear making the wrong decision.
Work & Calling Examine ambition, responsibility, vocation, and the desire for your work to carry meaning and serve something beyond yourself.
Money & Provision Bring financial pressure, scarcity, practical needs, and uncertainty about provision before God with honesty and trust.
New Seasons Enter beginnings, endings, moves, and major life transitions with courage, gratitude, and openness to God’s guidance.

The inner work is still yours.

Meditation can help you notice what is happening within you. Prayer allows you to bring what you find into an honest relationship with God. The teachings of Jesus can challenge how you judge, hide, forgive, take responsibility, and love.

That is the actual bridge Dear Friends is creating.

Our Mission

What Dear Friends believes

Dear Friends is for people who want to do the inner work without separating that work from God—people becoming more present, more self-aware, and more intentional about how they think, feel, and live.

It is not a sermon library. Dear Friends does not offer polished religious answers, preach at people, or force every painful experience into a spiritual lesson. Faith does not require pretending everything is okay, and personal growth is not about overpowering every uncomfortable thought or forcing yourself to feel positive.

Scripture and biblical stories are not included merely as accounts from the past or as proof that the content is Christian. They are used when they can illuminate something you are facing now and help you approach what lies ahead with greater wisdom, courage, and trust.

Some tracks offer comfort. Others speak more directly and may reveal something that has been difficult to admit. Some provide words for moments when prayer feels hard. Others create space to breathe, rest, listen, or become more aware of God’s presence.

Dear Friends is not a church, denomination, or spiritual authority. It is a resource for people who believe, people who are searching, and people whose relationship with God does not fit neatly inside a religious label.

Prayer does not replace reflection, responsibility, or action. It gives that work a spiritual center and allows you to move through it in relationship with God.

Become more present. Keep God in the process.
